2010 Sylvan Lake Half has been postponed until 2011.
Sylvan Lake Half Iron Triathlon organizers regretfully
announce the immediate cancellation of the Sylvan Lake Half Iron event scheduled
for July 25th. The decision to cancel the event comes as a result of meetings
this week with Town staff to discuss the upcoming construction and redevelopment
project to Lakeshore Drive in Sylvan Lake now slated to take place this summer.

Outback Events is proud to announce that
we will be partnering with the Official Charity for the Sylvan Lake Half Iron -
Cops for Cancer. The crew came out and helped us prepare and serve the bbq
lunch to all of the athletes on race day this year and did a fantastic job.
We are looking forward to working together to help raise money and awareness for
Cops for Cancer.
Congratulations to our 2009 Sylvan Lake Champions Scott Tremblay 4:16:44 and
Jennifer Mansell 4:48:44.
2009 Athlete Race Photos are now available and we would like thank Peter Coombes for
photographing the event and John Rajic from Canadian Exposures for making
them available.

Outback Events is proud to present the 7th Annual Sylvan Lake Half Iron Triathlon.
Outback
Events is proud to present the 7th
Annual Sylvan Lake Half Iron Triathlon and we are looking forward to welcoming back those
who have raced with us before and those who will be first time racers with us.
Located half way between Calgary and Edmonton Sylvan Lake welcomes over 1.5
million visitors a year from around Alberta.

The race course is a Half Iron Distance that consists of a 2km swim, 90km bike
and 21km run. The open water swim consists of a one course
in
Sylvan
Lake that is described as the nicest lake in Alberta. A rolling bike course of one loop past rural Alberta
farms with some short climbs and fast descents awaits athletes.

The run course is out Lakeshore Drive along the lake and then
out along the lakeside cottages with the lake there to tease you in the heat of
the day. The course will be well supported with volunteers and aid.

The race finishes beside the lake in one of Canada's most beautiful venues
to race. Post race awards and BBQ lunch for athletes and family to follow
after the event is over.
The race is in its 7th year and has hosted some great triathletes since 2004
including Craig Walton, Keiran Doe, Emma Snowsill, Matt Seeley, Brian Rhodes and
Canadians Scott Curry, Marilyn McDonald, Angela Naeth, and past Persona Oliver
Half Iron Winner Kyle Marcotte.
